Tuition, Semester schedule & Payment Due Dates

Monthly rates for weekly lessons are:

30 minute lessons......$190/month in our studio/$230 in your home

45 minutes..................$275/month in our studio/$310 in your home

60 minutes..................$360/month in our studio/$390 in your home

Students can register at any time throughout the year, and tuition is prorated accordingly.  During the September-June school year, we use flat-rate tuition: tuition is dividing in 10 monthly payments for ease and convenience. Each student receives 36 lessons across the September-June school year.

Summer scheduling

We strongly encourage year-round lessons!  Music is a new language and without reinforcement, new technique, skills and vocab learned during the school year can be forgotten.  Summer lessons (July/August) are billed as individual lessons, and makeup lessons can be arranged following our cancellation/makeup guidelines.  Summer makeup credits are valid for July/August lessons only.  Payment continues to be due on the 1st of the preceding month.  To request an adjustment in monthly tuition to accommodate summer travel, at least 30 days notice must be given.  If you wish to withdraw for summer and return in the fall, please let us know - we can coordinate pay-in-advance plans to hold your spot.

Payment Method and Due Dates

Invoices are sent out on the 1st of month, and payment is due by the 5th of the month.  Payment can be made online, and we're happy to run payment for you if you'd prefer. Payments not received by the 5th of the month will receive a courtesy email reminder; payments not received by the 10th will have a $10 late fee added.  If you are unable to financially fulfill your commitment to lessons, we encourage advance notice and communication with our office.

Cancellations and Makeups

We understand that sometimes things come up, and happily offer a maximum of 5 makeup lessons per semester.  At least 24 hours notice is required to receive a makeup.  No-shows and lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are not made up.  Tuition is not refundable, transferable or credited.  During the fall and spring semesters (September-June), there are no adjustments in tuition.  If you've planned a vacation, lessons can be made up under our cancellation/makeup policies outlined above.  Unused makeup credits expire at the end of each semester.

Pick-up/Drop-off

For lessons taught in Jennifer's home: please be aware that lessons are frequently taught back to back, and as a result, we ask that you wait until your scheduled lesson time to enter the studio, and pick up promptly when the lesson has finished. The studio is not responsible for providing before or after care. Parents are welcome to sit in during lessons any time.

Substitute Teachers

If a teacher is ill or otherwise unavailable to teach, the school will try to arrange one of our other teachers to substitute. If a substitute cannot be arranged, we will contact all families and missed lessons will be rescheduled.

Recitals

We believe performance experience is a valuable part of music education!  We hold several optional recitals each year, and strongly encourage recital participation. Each recital has a $30 participation fee per student (or $50 per multi-student family), which covers venue rental and supplies.  This fee is added onto tuition invoices due the month prior to the recital.  Details and invoices will be sent to participating families.

Inclement weather

In the event of snow or other inclement weather, we encourage safety. If you believe road conditions in your neighborhood are unsafe to come to lesson, let us know via email with as much notice as possible. If we feel roads in our neighborhood are unsafe, we will cancel via email and phone/text with as much notice as possible. In either case, a makeup lesson will be arranged.

Withdrawal

Enrollment is ongoing and unless we receive a minimum 30 day notification of withdrawal, we assume you will be continuing your musical journey with our studio. If less than 30 days notice is received, you will be charged for the following month's lessons.  Your teacher cannot withdraw you; you must phone or email the office to request a withdrawal.
